Welding Engineer

What will you do?
You will have an advisory and coordinating role within a project based on your expertise. You will participate in various project teams with your knowledge of welding methodologies and ensure the qualifications of employees. In this role, you will have a lot of contact with Welding Process Specialists and the departments of Operations, Engineering, Sales, Maintenance, QA/QC. Additionally, you will frequently interact with Customer Inspectors and/or certification bodies, suppliers, Project Management, and of course, the HSE department. You will lead the Welding Process Specialists and report to the Manager Welding.
Your tasks will also include:
- Discussing and advising on welding technical issues with the customer and participating in customer meetings to agree on welding technical and sheet material specifications.
- Managing KPIs related to welding quality and initiating preventive actions when necessary. You will be the driving force in collaboration with Production, Maintenance, and QA/QC departments to conduct research and take measures if the KPIs fall outside the targets.
- Ensuring the acquisition and maintenance of qualifications for Welders/Operators (WQ) according to standards and/or specifications by inspection bodies.
- Monitoring and evaluating the correct application of work instructions and welding processes and drafting welding procedures (WPS/PQR) according to guidelines, deadlines, client specifications, and/or internationally applicable codes.
- Assessing welding procedures of third parties for outsourced welding work and discussing any deviations with the external party.
- Guiding, coaching, and developing the Welding Process Specialists to ensure they can achieve targets and output.

As a Welding Coordinator, you will join a team that includes another Welding Coordinator, Welding Process Specialists, Safety Officers, Customer Inspectors, and colleagues from Operations and Maintenance. The location of your new challenge is the Maasvlakte!

What do you bring?
- A completed HBO education, supplemented with an IWT or IWE course. Training as a visual welding inspector VT-w2, IWI-C is a plus.
- You have a VCA-VOL certification and knowledge of ISO14731.
- You are familiar with industrial welding processes and related technologies.
- Additionally, you work methodically and process-oriented and have experience with project management.
- You have good verbal and written communication skills in both Dutch and English.
- You possess persuasive power and a service-oriented and flexible attitude.
- You can function well both independently and as part of a team, are open, honest, transparent, and open to the opinions of others.
- You do what you say and say what you do.
