In 2004 I came to Sif and started again as a Quality Controller. That was a conscious choice, because in that position I could learn a lot about the ins and outs of the company. I couldn't have had a better start with Sif.
I have been the hall coordinator of halls 9 and 10 since May 2016. That is a managerial position. I am responsible for part of the production process and that is quite a challenge. My work is very diverse. I constantly think along and ahead in the production process. I also manage my colleagues per workplace, so that the work is done efficiently and safely. Safety always comes first at Sif.
At Sif we strive for high quality. I often work together with fellow managers, QC'ers, welding specialists, the technical service and the transport and work preparation departments. Collaboration is extremely important within Sif. Everyone contributes to the realization of the planned goals. As a contact person on the work floor, I also speak to employees of external companies. For example, if maintenance or adjustments are required to machines. Or if we are dealing with a malfunction.
When I guide people, I notice how important mentality is. You can learn many things if you show interest, are driven and are flexible. A lot has happened at Sif in recent years and we are still in full development. We do everything we can to make our product as good as possible within the agreed schedule. We do this with beautiful machinery and special welding techniques developed in-house. Our production capacity will be expanded further in the coming period, both in Roermond and at our location on the Maasvlakte in Rotterdam.
What I like is that we always keep looking ahead. In my view, that is also part of a technical and innovative company such as Sif.
I enjoy working at Sif and am proud to be an important link in this dynamic company. The working atmosphere here is good and staff turnover is low. I think the latter is mainly due to the space you get here. You have a lot of freedom. And if you deal with it wisely and responsibly, it will be seen and appreciated. At Sif you make it yourself."
